Kunstschaffen 2026 (M–Z)
The group exhibition featuring member artists, held at the end of each year, has a long tradition in Swiss art associations. While the exhibition formats of these so-called “Christmas exhibitions” have evolved over time, the focus remains on regional art. The “Kunstschaffen” exhibition has been held at the Kunsthaus Glarus since 1977; since 2021, it has alternated with “Heimspiel,” a juried, thematic exhibition featuring artists from Eastern Switzerland and neighboring regions. To this day, the “Kunstschaffen” exhibition at the Kunsthaus is not juried and follows an open submission process. The only requirements are that the artwork be contemporary, that the artist’s last name be listed alphabetically, and that there be a connection to the Glarus region.
During the exhibition, there will be an extensive program of events featuring guided discussions between the artists, the team, and members of the Glarner Kunstverein’s board of directors.
An audience award, sponsored by Schätti Leuchten, will be presented as part of the exhibition.
The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, January 31, 2027, at 5:00 p.m.
