Romane Chabrol
L’Étang de rien
Romane Chabrol creates musical compositions using a combination of electronic and acoustic instruments. She works with sound fragments from the piano, harmonium, guitar, synthesizer, computer, and recording devices. The musical structure of her works is similar to the expansive, contemplative, and rousing elements of film scores.
For Kunsthaus Glarus, Chabrol has created a new composition that can be heard and experienced as a sound installation in a spatial setting based on the Kunsthaus building itself as well at several live concerts.
Romane Chabrol will perform live concerts at Kunsthaus Glarus on February 19 (9 pm) and 20 (4 pm), March 4 (4 pm) and 5 (4 pm), and May 7 (9 pm) and 8 (4 pm).
Romane Chabrol’s exhibition is created in close cooperation with HEAD – Genève, Geneva University of Art and Design. It is part of the exhibition series New Heads, an annual project by HEAD – Genève.
Accompanying the exhibition is an interview with Romane Chabrol by Melanie Ohnemus.
